Football Club DAO’s Social Club has created a unique ERC-20 token on the Polygon network (Ethereum blockchain) that represents ownership and membership in the organization.

Polygon, built on top of Ethereum, is a solution that has been implemented in the initial phases so that participation in the DAO can be economically inclusive to those who can’t afford Ethereum’s high gas fees.

The founders are following in the footsteps of other successful DAOs in implementing progressive decentralization — a process in which founders relinquish control in increments, by distributing tokens controlled by the founders over time. This strategy allows teams to focus, helps diverse ownership flourish, and creates a clear path toward regulatory compliance before we attempt to buy a team.
